DASMARIÑAS CITY, CAVITE — As the demand for water grows with the city’s rapid development, PrimeWater Dasmariñas, in partnership with Dasmariñas Water District, continues to expand and upgrade its water infrastructure to better serve local communities. One of the major efforts is the Paliparan 2C System Project, which now supports Barangays Paliparan I, II, and III, featuring three pumping stations—Paliparan 2C, Nostalji Pump 2, and Greenwoods—a 1,000-cubic-meter reservoir, and a booster system. A completed pipe-laying project along Molino–Paliparan Road has also extended service coverage, especially in Paliparan III. “We continue to prioritize areas with increasing demand to ensure improved water…

The Oklahoma City Thunder had the best defense in the NBA this season, but if the game was close late, the Thunder consistently opted not to trust it. Under head coach Mark Daigneault, OKC likes to foul when up three, refusing to yield a game-tying attempt to their opponent while betting on their free throw shooting to get them across the finish line. The Thunder again found themselves in a situation where they were fouling up three in the final seconds in Game 1 against the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. This time, it…

The first wave of WNBA preseason games over the weekend also brought the first big wave of training camp roster cuts. Due to the limited number of roster spots on WNBA teams and the salary cap restrictions, many WNBA training camp attendees don’t make teams. Teams will sign anywhere from 18-21 (ish) players to camp, and cut their rosters down to 11-12 by the time the season starts. Most teams will wait until after their first preseason game to begin to trim down their roster, at least getting a look at everyone before making decisions. One move that bucked that…

The top of the 2025 NHL Draft is set with the New York Islanders winning the lottery on Monday night with a 3.5 percent chance. There will be plenty of time to pore over the draft class and dive deeper into these prospects, but here are the snap decisions in a lottery-only mock draft now the order is set. No. 1: New York Islanders: C Michael Misa — Saginaw (OHL) One of the most fascinating two-way centers to enter the draft in a long time. There are shades of Brayden Point to his game, which would be one heck of…

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon —PHOTO FROM DOTR FB PAGE MANILA, Philippines — All drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) are required by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to undergo regular alcohol and drug testing as part of sweeping measures to address the increasing number of vehicular accidents that made roads unsafe for all Filipinos. The new measures were made after series of road crashes since the start of the month. Two of these crashes —a passenger bus crashing into multiple vehicles along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway on May 1 and the sport utility vehicle ramming passengers at the departure area of…

After being waived by the Golden State Valkyries on Saturday, Shyanne Sellers has been picked up by the Atlanta Dream, per the WNBA’s transactions page. The Dream were awarded Sellers off waivers two days after it was announced she had been cut by the Valkyries just days into training camp, before their first preseason game. Sellers was drafted No. 17 overall by the Valkyries this year after being projected as a first-round pick, then falling into the second round. The Valkyries’ decision to cut Sellers was met with a ton of criticism online. Sellers was one of the best prospects…

Just over a month after pro-Duterte troll farms and aligned traditional politicians tried to silence yours truly for factually pointing out the unfathomable Human Development Index disparities in the country, yet another set of statistics confirmed my basic hypothesis. According to the latest data released by the Functional Literacy, Education, and Mass Media Survey (FLEMMS) under the auspices of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), eight of the 10 provinces with the poorest literacy rates in the country hailed from Mindanao. Fortunately for the PSA, it’s unlikely that the institution or its staff would be honored with the privilege of persona…
